Date of Passing: Apr 01, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND ALBERT EGER It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Raymond Albert Eger on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the age of 57. Raymond greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, Kaemon, Braydyn and Colton. Raymond was creative and talented and the type of person who could do anything he set his mind to. He helped his son Cecil build his garage and during any downtime, teased Cecil's wife Kameo unmercifully. But she was used to him and could give it back as well, which he enjoyed. Raymond's youngest son, Ray was a huge help to his dad in rebuilding a vintage car, a project they had been working on together for a few years. Raymond also enjoyed visiting Ray and Suzanne at their new house. One of Raymond's fondest memories was building his daughter Tammy and Ann a sunroom for their cabin on Manitoulin Island. One rainy day at the cabin we were talking about it and before we knew it, Raymond had constructed a cardboard model and the building project was underway. Raymond will also be missed by his niece Vanessa, who lived with Michele and Raymond during her high school years. She will have lasting memories of Uncle Raymond cheering her basketball, volleyball and dance teams from the crowd, and of course the uncle - daughter talks about boys. Raymond was talking about visiting his brother and sister-in-law, Verne and Noreen Eger in Melville, Saskatchewan, the place where Raymond was born and visiting his nephew David Eger and his wife Karen in Regina. He liked to tease his great-niece and nephew, Ally and Brett whenever he could. Ray was predeceased by his father Kenneth Eger and his mother Betty Eger. Raymond also leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Michele. He and Michele were best friends. There are endless memories of camping trips, numerous renovation projects and garage adventures. Life with Ray was never boring. Their home was always open to friends and family who often gathered by the fire-pit in the summer or the pool table in the winter. Ray was the life of the party. A celebration of his life will take place at the Elmwood Legion Hall (920 Nairn Avenue) between 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8. Friends and family are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
