Born: Nov 22, 1929
Date of Passing: Mar 31, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH (BETTY) TULLY With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on March 31, 2010 at the Health Sciences Centre with her family at her side. Mom was born on November 22, 1929 in Winnipeg, raised and attended school in Woodlands, Manitoba. On November 29, 1947 she married Frederick C. Tully shortly after his return from serving in the Second World War. Mom and Dad lived in Winnipeg until 1950 when they moved to the Marquette area to farm. In 1962 Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg. Mom worked in the Sears' optical department for several years prior to joining the Codville Company from where she retired after 25 years of dedicated service. Betty was predeceased by her parents Alma and Hugh Porteous, brother Robert, and grandson Clayton. Left to mourn her passing are her loving husband of 62 years Frederick, sons Fred (Maureen), Russell (Marion), grandchildren Garett (Elaine), Elliott (Grace), Brett, Jeffrey, Debbie (Karl), and great-granddaughter Sierra, sister-in-law Helen, uncle George and aunt Edna Killen, and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandma loved nothing more than her family and spending time with her grandchildren on weekends at the cabin where she cooked and enjoyed lots of laughter. She was also very proud to be a great-grandmother and looked forward to each time Sierra was coming to visit. As Mom was a voracious knitter, we could all count on receiving some of her hand made creations especially at Christmas. Mom and Dad also enjoyed periodic excursions to Casinos with Florence and Alvin. When asked how she did, she would often reply I did OK but I'm not so sure about your Dad . Mom touched the lives of many, she will be sadly missed. At Betty's request, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations in Betty's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
