LIONEL BERARD 1927 2010 After a short battle for life, on April 3, 2010, Lionel left us to be with Mom. Dad made a home for us in many places, working many different jobs, before settling down, in retirement, at the Chalet in St. Norbert. With Mom always at his side, he enjoyed a simple life. They suffered the winter but come April 1, they could be found living in their camper, first in Lorette, then Hallock, then back to Lorette till October. That was when they were the happiest. Predeceased by his wife, Thérèse (nee Brunet); his parents, Euclid and Florestine, five brothers and one sister; he leaves behind 12 children: Léo, Lise, Marc, Annette, Rita, Diane, Gabrielle, Nicole, Denis, Gérard, Donald and Renée; their spouses, 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind three brothers: Charles, Camille and Roger; three sisters: Gail, Lilliane and Emma; three sisters-in-law, Louise, Grace and Maria and their families, as well as the Brunet family. A very special thank you to Roland and Lucille for always, always being there for him. Cremation has taken place and funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7 at the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church, 80 St. Pierre Street in St. Norbert, MB. Interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lionel's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
