OLIVE WATSON (nee FIDLER) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Olive at the Grace Hospital on April 2, 2010. Survived by her children Susan (Terry) Hurley, Bob (Gwen) Watson, Janet (Dennis) Frohwerk; grandchildren Dan (Kim) Hurley, Mark (Jeannette) Watson, Colleen Hurley, Laura Frohwerk (Derrick Topley), Kristy Frohwerk, Jeff Frohwerk; great-grandchildren Liam Hurley, Owen Watson, Michaela Topley, her sister Jean Porter, sister-in-law Nora (Al) Slater; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, George, by her parents Howard and Clara Fidler, brother Harold Fidler. Olive was born in Kenora on Nov 15, 1921. She grew up and was educated in Winnipeg, Portage and Whitemouth where she met George. They were married in 1944. Olive worked at MacDonald Bros. repairing aircraft while George was overseas. She also worked at Eaton's Polo Park in the fabrics for 15 years until her retirement. Olive and George lived on Marjorie St. for nearly 50 years. Olive loved to sew and read. She will be remembered by many for her baking and standing invitation for Sunday supper. Olive loved life and enjoyed the company of her family, friends and pets. The family would like to thank Kathy from the Grace Hospital for being with Mom during her final moments. Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. If desired donations may be made in Olive's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
