WAYNE SWEENEY January 18, 1942 - April 2, 2010 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Wayne Sweeney. Remaining to forever cherish Wayne's memory are his children: son Rick (Debbie), grandson Justin, son Craig, granddaughter Teagan, his two brothers, Terry (Colleen), Ronald (Lorraine), his two sisters Darlene Marcoux and Linda Rose, all of Winnipeg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne is predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Yvette Sweeney. Wayne has been an avid photographer for many years. He loved taking pictures of his family and with his computer he created those into works of art. Wayne also spent many enjoyable hours researching the family genealogy. Through his diligent and detailed work we now have a greater knowledge of our family's history. Wayne loved attending family gatherings and will be sadly missed. It just won't be the same without his laughter and quick wit. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, at 2:00 p.m. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for the compassionate care Wayne received and in the support of the family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Wayne's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. He will be loved and forever missed by his family.
