Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE FRIESEN Katherine passed away at Charleswood Care Centre in Winnipeg on April 14, 2010, one month short of her 93rd birthday. Katherine was born in Warwaryevka, Ukraine on May 13, 1917. She moved to Canada in 1924. She worked as a maid in Winnipeg when she was 15 years old. She married George Friesen on June 14, 1941. They moved to Headingley where they farmed. Katherine is survived by son Kenneth (Elaine) of Calgary, grandchildren Kelsey and Julie, daughter Jennifer of Victoria and son Gerald of Cartier; sisters Herta and Helen; brothers John, George and Henry. She was predeceased by her husband George in 2005. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Springstein Mennonite Church with viewing prior to the service.
