Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID VICTOR WILLIAM PEKARY January 18, 1959 - March 31, 2010 Dave died suddenly and unexpectedly, at his home, at age 51, of a ruptured aortic aneurysm. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hagerman, daughter Madeline and son James of Manotick, ON, as well as his sister Lynne Sinclair (Wain) of Anola, MB and extended family in Vancouver, BC. Dave grew up in Winnipeg and Beausejour, graduated from University of Manitoba in 1982 as an Electrical Engineer, and moved to Ottawa to establish his career. He had worked with Northern Telecom, Jet Net and Bell Canada and was currently self-employed, marketing products in the field of security. Dave had also worked for many years as a volunteer firefighter with Osgoode Township. Dave played hockey as a youth and continued playing goalie for a number of years as an adult with The Old Buzzards' in Ottawa. He also enjoyed golfing and was a solid fan of both hockey and football. He enjoyed attending games with his buddies and his family. Dave especially enjoyed the trips he and his family took together to Disney World, the Maritimes and to visit family and friends in Manitoba. After the death of his parents in recent years, he was happy to have reconnected with his old friends, Pete, Wayne, Kevin and Dana from Manitoba, and was nurturing those roots' again. Funeral service was held at St. James United Church in Osgoode with interment at Rideauvale Cemetery in Kars, ON. Memorial donations may be made to Scouts Canada 1st Osgoode Group Committee, 5650 Owen St., Osgoode, ON K0A 2W0; or to Mary Hagerman In Trust' for Madeline and James, c/o Bank of Montreal, 60 Northside Rd., Ottawa, ON K2H 5Z6. Dave will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
