ROBERT (BOB) JOHN SCOTT It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bob on April 15, 2010 at the age of 93 years. Bob is survived by his wife Ada, daughter Audrey (Roger), son Ian (Myrtle) and grand-children Heather (Joel) and Scott (Stephanie). He is also survived by his brother David (Marie) and sister-in-law Audrey. His sister Helen and sister-in-law Joan predeceased him. Bob was born in Winnipeg on December 31, 1916 and was a proud West Kildonan resident. Bob and Ada wed June 17, 1944 and celebrated 65 years of marriage last June. Bob was a founding member of Kildonan United Church, a life member of Bleak House and a member of McBeth House. He showed his commitment to West Kildonan by serving as a Resident Advisor for 18 years and a member of West Kildonan Kiwanis Club for 25 years. Bob loved travelling, bowling, golfing, and curling. His team even scored an eight-ender at the West Kildonan's Senior Curling Club. However, his biggest passion was gardening and everyone enjoyed the garden tours. The family thanks the staff and residents of Kiwanis Courts for their friendship and support and the staff at Oakview Place for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, officiated by Rev. Earl Gould. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6.
