LOUISE OTTO It is with sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Louise Otto on April 10, 2010 at the St. Boniface Hospital Louise is lovingly remembered by her children, William (Evelyn), Arnold (Doreen), Eric, grandchildren, Sandy (Francois) Arsenault, Laurie (Andrew) Beauchamp, Christopher and Tristan Otto, her great-grandchildren Wyatt and Alyssa and her sister Doreen (Albert) Noel. She was predeceased by her husband Reinhold Otto, her parents Albert Karl and Wilhelmine Trapp, brother Dr. Frederick and spouse Helene Trapp. and daughter-in-law Susan Otto. Louise Augusta Victoria Trapp was born January 23, 1920. She spent her childhood in Beaconia, Manitoba. It was some time later that she became interested in a certain gentleman farmer by the name of Reinhold Otto. Mom and Dad were married May 9, 1942 and farmed in Glenmoor, Manitoba. It was here that sons William, Arnold, and Eric were born. Mom loved to grow flowers especially roses. She loved to read and made a point of getting books from the University of Manitoba library for herself and her children and also loved to listen to opera on the radio. In 1973 Mom and Dad sold their farm and moved to Winnipeg where Mom found part time employment with the V.O.N. as a Home Care Aid for a number of years. When Dad passed away in February of 1983, Mom kept herself busy with the senior group from Grace Lutheran Church. She travelled by train to many parts of Canada with friends, as well as many trips to Alberta and British Columbia accompanied by her son Eric visiting her grandchildren and many of her relatives. In 1997 she moved to the apartment block on Henderson Hwy., which had an active seniors group and Mom enjoyed many hours with the friends she made there. In December of 2008 she moved to Riverside Lions Seniors Residence. The family would like to thank all the staff at Riverside Lions for their care and kindness they showed Mom and also a special thank you to the medical staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home at #1 Hwy. E. and Navin Road on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
