COLIN WILLIAM CHARLES BUTLER Born Churchill, England, June 12, 1939 Died Beausejour, Manitoba, April 25, 2010 Survived by his wife Claire Stephensen; son Joshua; daughter Lesley (England); brother Geoffry (Maureen); nieces Louise and Samantha and families of England. He was predeceased by his father Charles and mother May of England. Colin served his apprenticeship in the shipyards of Bristol. He worked in England and Nigeria before immigrating to Canada in 1978. The ensuing years were spent building the round house, working for Winnipeg Hydro, raising Josh, tending his cows and horses and when possible going fishing. Since retiring in 1999 Colin lived in Pointe du Bois close to his beloved Winnipeg River. He worked as a fishing guide every summer until last year at Pine Island Camp. Through his difficult journey with cancer this last year he was supported and encouraged immeasurably by the devotion and attention of his friends. This will never be forgotten by his family in Canada. We wish to thank the Doctors and staff of Beausejour Hospital and CancerCare for their unstinting care. Memorial service will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main St., Stonewall at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1. Carol Ann Gotch presiding. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
