Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN ALICE BENJAMIN (nee Simair) It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of Jean on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Park Manor Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her loving husband William (Billy); sisters, Anne, Angel, Martha, Mary along with her brothers Jules and Joe. She is survived by her daughter Charlotte (Francis), grandson Curtis (Pamela), granddaughter Lee Anne (Geoff) and great-grandchildren Amber, Ashlee and Brooke, along with many nieces and nephews. Jean was born and raised on the family farm in Springside, SK on September 23, 1917. She and Billy married and had a farm of their own where they worked very hard and they enjoyed immensely. They shared one child Charlotte who was born in 1945. Jean and Billy sold the farm and moved to Winnipeg in 1966. Jean worked at The Hollywood Hair Salon Laundry and Eaton's Mail Order. Jean and Billy later purchased property in Anola, MB where they spent an enormous amount of time and energy on their home and yard. Jean loved her yard work and gardening. When Bill passed away in 1980, Jean was devastated but was devoted to her daughter and grandchildren having spent many happy times with her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Park Manor Personal Care Home for the caring and compassionate care that she received. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Anola, MB followed by interment in the family plot in St. Michael's Cemetery in Cooks Creek. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Jean's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Mom, Grandma, Memère will be missed by all. To Charlotte & family, We send you our deepest sympathy on the passing of your Mom. She was a great and fun lady. We spent many a Christmas with you and your Mom & Dad and Aunt Anne on the farm when I was a child. Those were happy times. Keep your good memories close. It is so very hard to lose a parent as I have lost both of mine. May God Bless and comfort you in this most difficult time.
