JOAO LINO PAMPLONA GOMES Suddenly, on Tuesday April 27, 2010 at home, we lost our beloved Joao at the age of 72 years. Joao was predeceased by his parents Joao and Guilhermina Gomes, two brothers Manuel and Jose Manuel Gomes. Left to cherish dad's memory are his best friend and wife of 49 years, Maria Candida, born in Sao Sebastiao, Azores; children Lina (Jose Manuel), Vilma (Peter), and Emanuel (Sonia); grandchildren Colton, Cassandra, Tatum, Anthony and Nathaniel; two brothers-in-law Joao Leal (Tereza), Francisco (Ana) and sister-in-law Carmen, nephews and nieces Manuel, Elizabeth, and Roberto. Many cousins in Canada, the USA and Terceira, Azores. Dad was born in Cabo da Praia, Terceira, Azores on September 23, 1937. He will best be remembered for his warm, helpful and cheerful nature. Enjoying much of his time tending to his garden, having a good time with friends and family, or following his faith. A hard working immigrant, who always provided for his family, but gave much to others. He was and will always be remembered by those who he loved and cared about. Words will never replace you, but the memories and your stories will be retold and bring us happiness for many years to come. You can finally rest well Dad. We all Love You. Our family is thankful to the Medical Staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at St. Peter's Church, 748 Keewatin Street at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at St. Peter's Church, 748 Keewatin Street at 10:30 a.m. Father Michael Wollbaum officiating, followed by procession to Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery's Chapel Mausoleum.
