She now joins her only son Kenneth, who left us in 2006. She was also predeceased by her parents Robert and Catherine Livingstone, brothers and sisters David, Iva (Ted), Jessie (Claude) and Margie (Vin). Bernice will be sadly missed by her husband of 61 years, Ivan, daughter-in-law Shirley, grandchildren Dean (Melanie), Karen (Dane), Paul (Joanne), and great-grandchildren Kennedy, Tristan, Kieran, and baby Gudmundson on the way. Her two brothers Allan (Julia) and Denny, as well as numerous nieces and nephews are also left to mourn her. Bernice Elsie Livingstone was born on a farm in Cartwright, MB on October 6, 1926 to parents Robert and Catherine Livingstone. She came to Winnipeg in 1947, where she met and later married her husband Ivan. In 1949, she gave birth to their only son Kenneth, whom she adored. About a decade later, Bernice embarked upon a career in retail for Sears that would span 27 years and two stores (two of which she helped open). Bernice loved gardening and boating at the cottage at Rock Lake. She always made time for visiting relatives in Killarney, Cartwright and other towns in Southwestern Manitoba. Bernice was a talented cook and her apple pies were legendary. In retirement, Bernice enjoyed active involvement on her bowling team, as well as travelling with her husband and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated and may be made to either the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba. The family would like to thank the staff at River East Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
