AGNES MARY PELLETIER It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Agnes Mary Pelletier, on May 6, 2010 at the Concordia Hospital. Agnes was predeceased by her parents, George and Clara Thompson; husband Thomas; son James; a brother James and son-in-law Frank Goral. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her family, daughter Sandra Pelletier-Goral, granddaughter Theresa (Terry) Marie Hunt (Trevor) and great-grandchildren, Joseph and Alyssa; daughter, Laurel Griffith (Glendon) and granddaughter, Marie Adelle; her extended family, Grace Penner and her children, Colleen Cassista and her family; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Fran Pelletier and their families, numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Charlie. Agnes was a longtime employee of Eatons and District Manager of Tupperware for many years. An avid volunteer, Agnes was a dedicated member of the St. Boniface and Concordia Volunteers, a Brownie leader, the Canadian Daughters and avid knitter for the Children's Hospital. Her interests also included active membership of the Toastmasters and the Blessed Sacrament Parish. Even with her busy schedule outside the home, Agnes still found the time to pursue her passion for knitting, crafting, sewing, gardening and walking. Her knitting skills produced many long winter scarves to be shared, sweaters, socks, mittens and outlandish customized dog sweaters for the family pets. Although her gardening skills were perhaps not quite up to prize winning, it was the puttering around the yard which she loved so much. And there was never a craft class that Agnes didn't love! Agnes had been a long time supporter of the Winnipeg Humane Society, War Amps and the Manitoba Lung Association. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Home Care Workers and the staff of the Concordia Hospital, who provided mom with compassionate care and dignity, providing comfort by easing her pain in her final days. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation, Manitoba Chapter, Suite 210 375 York Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J3 or to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6, or to a charity of your choice. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, May 12th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 710 Roanoke Street, Transcona, with Fr. Ed Bonin officiating.
