Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERTRUDE LORETTA SAMBOREK (nee BRIERE) August 7, 1928 - May 15, 2010 It is with sad hearts that we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Gertrude, on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the age of 81 years. Remaining to forever cherish Gertrude's memory are her daughters, Elaine Campbell (Carly, Adam), Theresa Groening (Jordan); sisters, Margeurite Spellicsy of Edmonton, AB, Helen; brother-in-law, Bruce Warren of Winnipeg; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Gertrude was born in Meyronne, SK the second youngest of ten. Mom enjoyed time spent with family. She took pleasure in her grandchildren and their accomplishments, attending their concerts and grads. They in turn loved her. She was always there with a word of encouragement, a hug, or maybe a hard fought game of crib. Come Spring, mom looked forward to planting her vegetable garden and making up her flower planters. We enjoyed planting with her as she told us the exact place to plant that tomato or found the perfect flower. Mostly, Mom had a deep and abiding Faith in God and this is her greatest gift to us. She never wavered through many losses and illness, always going forward in her Faith. We love you Mom and Grandma. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc Street, with Rev. Fr. Martin Bradbury presiding. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. For those who wish viewing will be held prior to Mass. The family would like to thank Dr. Sarah Kredenster for her care over the years and to the staff of 6E, St. Boniface Hospital for their most excellent and compassionate care. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith. (Timothy 4:7) Well done good and faithful servant
