CLIFFORD WALDMAR LEIBERT It is with sad hearts that we say goodbye to our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Clifford Waldmar Leibert who departed this life on May 19, 2010 at Concordia Hospital after a brief illness. Clifford was born on May 24, 1933 to Emma and Charles Libert and lived in Bird River until the sudden passing of his father in 1940. Clifford along with his mother and sister then moved to St. James in Winnipeg. He married Lucille Kresky, the love of his life, in 1955. In 1961 they moved to Transcona to build their life together. Cliff worked for Canadian Publishers in 1966 until he retired in 1989. A kind and gentle man, Cliff lived life with honesty, integrity and respect for all living things. He will be remembered for his quick wit, spirit of adventure, and whole-heartedness. He deeply loved his wife and his family, valued the company of good friends. He always enjoyed photography, nature, and a good scotch. While Cliff's heart was with his childhood homestead in Bird River, he was unable to do all that he wanted there. He enjoyed gardening, cottage life at Winnipeg Beach and Bel Air, and later, winters in Florida. Clifford was predeceased by his father, Charles (1940) and mother, Emma (2007). He is survived and will forever be remembered by his devoted wife Lucille; beloved sons Charles and Lawrence (Andrea); treasured grandchildren Jason, Jillian, and Jessica; loving sister Rita; caring mother-in-law Francis; brother-in-law Richard (Joanne); Julie, A.D. and Laurie; his nieces and nephews as well as friends who were blessed to know him. A kind thanks to the staff and volunteers at Kildonan Personal Care Home for their help and support. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Service held Saturday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception at Wheeler Funeral Chapel and Reception Centre, 211 Regent Avenue W., Winnipeg, MB R2C 1S3, Phone: 204-224-1525. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clifford's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Kidney Foundation of Canada, 730 Taylor Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8.
