RUTH ELAINE STABNER (HICKMAN)
Date of Passing: May 27, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUTH ELAINE STABNER (nee HICKMAN) It is with deep sadness that we announce Mom's passing on May 27, 2010 with family by her side. She was predeceased by her infant son Randy, her parents William and Jane Hickman, and her sister Wilma Friesen. Mom was born in 1933 and grew up on a farm in Birch Bay. She married Dad on August 20, 1954 and went on to have eight children, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and she cherished us all dearly. Because of her health, the last twenty years were truly a gift to us all. Mom enjoyed spending her summers with Dad at the lake, but when going to the lake became too much for her, Techno-Grannie kept up with family and friends on Facebook and we will all miss her Facebook comments and emails. She will be sadly missed by her husband Reg; her children, Brenda Roy, Bradley (Rose), Kim Yanke (Garry), Cindy McCabe (Kevin), Darcy, Shelley Senkow (Fred) and Michelle Peterson (Brent); her grandchildren, James, Richard, Christina, Chandell, Dillon, Camelle, Shannon, Shane, Randi, Courtney, Gareth, Sari, Bailey and cherished great-grandchildren. Thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital who, over the years, took such great care of mom. The Pallbearers will be, James Roy, Chandell Pischke, Dillon Stabner, Camelle Veloso, Shannon Bereznycky, Shane Yanke, Gareth Senkow and Sari Peterson. The Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Roy, Christina Smith, Randi and Courtney McCabe and Bailey Peterson. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Grahamdale Hall, Bill Watson officiating, with Interment to follow at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6.
