MILDRED KROCKER Peacefully, in her sleep, Mildred passed on at Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg on June 4, 2010. She was predeceased by her loving husband Milton (Milt) of 57 years on December 23, 2001. Mildred (Milly) leaves to forever remember her spirit, strength, tenacity and great humour four children, David of Calgary, Pat Clapham of BC, Miles of BC, Don (Debby) of Winnipeg Beach; seven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren: in age order: Cheri Llewellyn - Kerrin and Jena of Calgary; Davey (Corinna) Krocker - Lexie and Reyna of Thailand; Brad (Lisa) Clapham of Texas; Kyle (Nina) Clapham of BC; Geoff Krocker - Kole and Chayce of Calgary; Rory Krocker currently at Dryden; Darcy (Jackie) - Kaiden and Brooklyn of Winnipeg. Mildred is predeceased by her birth family members, all of England, Father and Mother Maurice and Edith Cohen (Jones); Brothers and Sisters: Dolly, Sidney, Manny, Charlie, Jackie, Rene, Pam. She leaves to mourn her sisters, both of England, Connie and Betty. Mildred cherished her loving relationship with her special sister Betty and they shared many letters, gifts and love over the years. Mildred spoke lovingly and with many happy memories of family times in England when she was a child. She told us wonderful stories of growing up with her brothers and sisters and how each would have to perform an act of dancing, music or singing after family Sunday dinners. Mildred met the love of her life, Milton, at a dance in Reading, England in 1944. David was born in 1945 and Mildred shipped to Canada with little David in her arms on the Queen Mary, with the other war brides. They settled in Carman, MB where Pat was born in 1947, then moved into Winnipeg where Miles was born in 1953 and Don in 1954. Milly and Milt spent many happy times with their army friends and enjoyed many Mess dances over the years. They worked hard and with love and persistence to raise their four children. Mom was the strength in our family and her sense of humour will be fondly remembered and we all thank her for this gift she gave us. Mom loved and spoke often of Lindenwood Manor, where she spent the last years of her life. She spoke often of her great friends at the Manor and she had great times with them all. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • With sadness, I acknowledge Mildred's passing on behalf of our Dad and late Mom, Maurice and Polly Camyre. Mildred's love and concern for their welfare shone through. Mildred enjoyed many a Camyre family gathering at Lindenwood Manor as well as at Joan's home and outings. An era has ended at Lindenwood Manor. We enjoyed taking Dad to lunch with Mildred, seeing the staff and other resident's Mom and Dad knew. Mildred has been a blessing to our family. We'll miss her welcome smile. - Posted by: Carol Mitchell (Friend) on: Jun 08, 2010
