KALWANT SINGH DHALLA 1940 - 2010 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mr. Kalwant (Ken) Singh Dhalla on Saturday, June 5, 2010. Born on December 9, 1940 in Ghanie Ke Bangar, Punjab, India. Kalwant lived a fulfilling life as a leader of his community and a great friend to many. Kalwant passed away at Concordia Hospital with his family at his bedside. He is remembered by his wife Sudesh Dhalla; his children, Navtej and Happy Dhalla, Deepa and Ashok Singal, Mona and Rajat Sethi, Jarnail and Arvinder Dhalla, Sunita and Pawan Bagga, Manoj and Prakash Verma, Hansjot Dhalla, along with his 14 grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his elder brother Dr. Naranjan Dhalla and extended family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 7 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. at 3:00 p.m. Religious services will follow at Singh Sabha Gurudwara, on Sturgeon Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R2J 9Z9.
