Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRUCE LEA HANDSPIKER Nov. 12, 1957 - June 5, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband and father, Bruce Lea Handspiker, aged 52 years on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the the Gillam Hospital. He is survived by his wife Cindy, sons Josh and Gavin, grandson Corbin Lee, mother Barb, sister Belinda (Paul) and brothers Kenny (Sherri) and Keith. Bruce was predeceased by his father Jack and his brother Jamie. Bruce was born and raised in Digby, Nova Scotia. In later years he joined the Hudson Bay Company/Northern Stores. He lived in numerous northern communities where he met many friends and grew to love the north. In 1997, Bruce, Cindy and Josh moved to Gillam, MB and during that time he was the Manager of the Northern Store. In 1999, he became the General Manager of the Gillam Co-op. While in Gillam, Bruce became an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends. He was also involved with Ducks Unlimited and the Kinsmen. Special thanks to Dr. Smal and the staff of the Gillam Hospital and Gillam Fire and Ambulance for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bruce's life will be held on Friday, June 11 at 2:00 pm at the Gillam Recreation Center.
