VERA STEHLIKOVA 1926 - 2010 It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother, Vera Stehlikova in the early hours of Monday June 7, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Remaining to forever cherish Vera's memory are her daughter Mila Stout; granddaughter Lindsay Stout; nephew Jirka Kopecky (Vlasta); their children Robert and Katerina; as well as her family in the Czech Republic. She was predeceased by her husband Miloslav Stehlik in 1996 and son-in-law Douglas Stout in 1999. Vera was a kind, strong mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Her life was not always easy but she taught us to overcome obstacles with grace and perseverance. Vera was born in Czechoslovakia on February 27, 1926 and immigrated to Winnipeg with her husband and daughter in 1968. Mom was a very generous person who lived her life with dignity and integrity. She loved road trips and travelled extensively through Canada and the United States with her family. In her younger years mom loved sports and was very active in skiing, swimming, cycling and enjoyed long walks. She remained physically active until the last year of her life. In compliance with Vera's wishes there will be no formal Funeral Service at this time. A private Burial will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Charleswood Care Center for their kindness and support over the last 8 months. In lieu of flowers donations in Vera's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Rest in Peace Mom, you will be forever missed and always loved.
