Doerksen passed away with his family by his side on June 10, 2010 at Meadowood Manor at the age of 96. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth in 1999. Peter was born on January 4, 1914 in Main Centre, Sask. Left to treasure family memories are his sons Elmer, of Herbert Sask., Harvey of Winnipeg, Bob (Dorothy) of Blumenort; two daughters, Linda (Cornie Kornelson) and Elaine (Louis Gendron), both of Winnipeg; grandchildren Kelly and Liana, Candy, Robert, Wayne, Sabrina of Winnipeg, D'Arcy and Jamie of Australia, Darrell, Brian, Glen and Deanna of Winnipeg, Michael, Steven, Mark and Alice, Kevin of Steinbach and Blumenort; great-grandchildren Dylan, Vanessa, Cheyenne, Joshua, Laura, Emma, Johnathan and Madison, and many other relatives and friends. Prior to retirement, Peter farmed and worked for Park and Recreation for the City of Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg, with viewing prior to the service. Interment in Mennonite Memorial Gardens. Donations in his memory may be made to Meadowood Manor or to Schizophrenia Society.

i did not know him that well. it was not that often that i visited him but when i did it was always with my grandma/his daughter. but he was a grrat guy and he always had a story to tell me, but now i don't hear those anymore not from him or anyone and a miss them. thar ware coll and avangrai story and i will miss him may he do good with the R.I.P.D - Posted by: joshua kornelson (grat grand son) on: Jun 03, 2013
