Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNIE (IVY) TONSAKER (nee EMMS) September 3, 1910 - March 3, 2010 With heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of Ivy Tonsaker. Ivy was predeceased by her husband Norman, parents William and Isabella Emms, four brothers and one sister, infant son, and beloved grandson, Sean McAninch. She is lovingly remembered by daughters Dolores (Henry), Florence (Murray); grandchildren Bruce, Rick (Tammy), Kristine (Michael), Susan (Dave), Lisa (Alan), Lori (Blair), Michael; eight great-grandchildren Jordan (Jordan's mom Kim), Joshua, Jessie, Cameron, John -Michael, Duncan, Samantha, David; her sister Jean (Gus); dear friend and cousin, Aggie. Ivy was born in Ideal, MB on the family farm and moved to Chatfield as a teenager. She married Norman in 1939 and moved to McKenzie Island, ON in 1940. Ivy resided there for 49 years, in Guelph for seven years, and in Winnipeg for 14 years. Ivy was a devoted wife, a wonderful loving mother, grandmother/great-grandmother. She was an amazing cook, an ardent gardener, a competitive card player and a faithful friend. She was a feisty yet gentle soul, who had a great sense of humour. She loved to dance, have a good laugh and her door was always open to family and friends. Ivy adored children (of all ages) and had a unique way of making them feel loved and valued. Special thanks to all the staff at Donwood Manor for care given to Ivy, especially the last two years when she was without her Norman. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Donwood Personal Care Home, 171 Donwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2G OV9 or Agape Table Inc., Box 26111, Maryland RPO, Winnipeg, MB R3G 3R3.
