SARAH MAE NEWTON Mae Newton (née Cordiner) passed away peacefully on June 15, 2010 at St. Boniface Hospital. She spent her last days surrounded by the family and friends who were so important to her and whose lives she so touched. Mae was born on February 22, 1930, at Balmoral, Manitoba. She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Bill, and her son Brent. Mae is survived by her sister Margaret Brookes (Barry); daughter Lee (Jim); sons Boyd (Tammy) and Blaine (Leslie); grandchildren Curtis, Alyssa, Jessica and Emma; and her great-grandson Carson. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Boniface Hospital cardiac unit for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, on Monday, June 21, at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow to share laughter and stories, and a little of the hospitality for which Mae was known. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, R3E 0S2, or at www.winnipegharvest.org.
