Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER WARMS 1921 - 2010 Peacefully, with his wife Bernice and daughter Karen (McGeary) at his side, Walter passed away on June 10, 2010 at St. Norbert Personal Care Home at the age of 89. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Bernice; brothers, Frank and Abe; and grandchildren, Whitney, Kaitlin, Ben, Carson, and Anna. Diane Warms, his younger daughter predeceased him on May 1, 2009. Walter was born on May 31, 1921 to John and Elizabeth near Morden, Manitoba. Walter's election to the presidency of the Institute of Chartered Accountants from 1968 to 1970 climaxed 15 years of service on the Institute council and recognized the leading part he had taken in community and public affairs. In 1970, the Institute of Chartered Accountants elected Walter to the Fellows of the Chartered Accountants for conspicuous service to his profession. In addition, Walter was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Khartum Shriners, and Rotary Club. For over 25 years, Walter enjoyed spending summers with his family and friends at their cottage Wal-Bern Heights at Falcon Lake, Manitoba. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Home Care, Dr. Pacin, Victoria Hospital and St. Norbert Person Care Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Walter's memory may be made to the Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life with family and close friends will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at a later date. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
