YVONNE TEMPLIN Peacefully, June 9, 2010 at Seven Oaks Hospital with family present, our beautiful mother departed this earth, to join Dad who left us too soon. Daughter of Bertram and Millie (Cameron) Craddock, predeceased also by devoted husband Bill, dear sister Evelyn and niece Kate. She leaves to mourn her three beloved children - Karen of Toronto, Kevin (Judy), and Kristen, adored granddaughter Claire, dear brother Bert, and many loved and loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Yvonne was born in Winnipeg in April 1924 and resided here all her life. She attended Isaac Brock and D.M.C.I., then took her degrees in Arts (English Lit) and Social Work. She worked at the Children's Aid Society before motherhood, and later for the Child Guidance Clinic. Mom was a tireless champion for the disadvantaged and the downtrodden. Justice and freedom, a healthy environment, an end to war -- these her goals. Always she gave generously of her time, intelligence, and resources, whether working to better the world or simply helping friends, family. She enjoyed many pastimes - was passionate for books, films, and discussion, was notably accomplished in such pursuits as contract bridge, gardening, knitting, cooking, and more. Yvonne had a real zest for life. But truly she lived for others, an exemplar of the life meaningfully lived. Good-bye, Mom, you'll be missed. Many thanks to the fine doctors and staff at Seven Oaks. Burial and service have taken place. Online tribute at www.bardal.ca In memory, friends may wish to donate to Alzheimer's Society or United Way.
