ELIZABETH MAY TOPPING (nee SMALL) Passed away peacefully at Beacon Hill Lodge on June 20, 2010 in her 96th year. May was born on June 9, 1915 in Binscarth, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, her daughter Janet Dykman, her brother David Small and her sister Jean Campbell. May is survived by her loving son Reid (Betty) of Calgary, her sister Margaret Surch of Winnipeg, her grandchildren Jim Dykman (Jarmila) in the Czech Republic, Liz Dykman and Kate Dykman of Winnipeg, her great-grandson William and her son-in-law Jerry Dykman (Marty) of Morden. May moved with her family to East Kildonan at an early age, where she resided for most of her life. After graduating from Normal School, she taught in one-room schools in rural Manitoba for several years and then later taught at several schools in East Kildonan until she retired in 1980. May enjoyed spending summers with her family at Laclu. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff on the 4th floor at Beacon Hill Lodge for their care, attention and respect.
