IDA MOWATT (nee KEEPER) The Wind Beneath Our Wings It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ida Mowatt (nee Keeper) on June 6, 2010 at the Norway House Hospital in Norway House, Manitoba. Ida leaves to mourn, her children: Edie of Norway House, Arlene (Stan) of Vancouver, Lynne (Robb) of Norway House, Judy (Charlie) of Winnipeg, Hubert, Joe, Alan (Joanie), Steve (Joan) all of Norway House, and Pat of Winnipeg; grandchildren: Dean (Kerri), Heather (Bill), Kyle, Dylan, Joey, Tim, Jonah, Carly, Kristin, Monique, Arlene, Zack, Shade, Nikita, and Julian; great-grandchildren: Miranda, Deanna, Denae, and Neal; sisters: Jean Erickson and Frieda (Duncan) Mercredi; brothers: Joe (Phyllis), Jackie (Elsie), and Kasey; and special nephew Lorne (Florence) Keeper. Also numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by parents Joe and Christina (McLeod) Keeper, husband Hubert, sister Edie Steele, brothers Stan McLeod and Roy Keeper, and grandson Steven Mowatt. Ida was always surrounded by her grandchildren and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. She will be missed but never forgotten by everyone. Ida worked at the Norway House Airport for many years, where she retired. The family would like to thank the nurses and all the staff at the Norway House Hospital for the compassionate care they provided. A special thanks to Dr. Jansen. A memorial service was held on June 9, 2010 celebrating Ida's life. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Ida's memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
