JOYCE EVELYN GRAHAM (nee KERR) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Graham on Monday, June 21, 2010 at the age of 76, after a courageous fight against cancer. Forever remembered and loved by daughter Vicki McKinlay (Ian); grandson Blaise; sisters- in-law Linda Phillips (Harvey), Pat Danino (Albert); brother-in-law Jim Graham (Bev); many nieces and nephews; as well, she will missed by a friend of over 50 years Doris McDowell. She was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Alexander; grandson Noah; niece Angela; father-in-law Ed; brother Gordon; husband Laurie; and mother-in-law Irene. Joyce retired from Air Canada in 1992 after 24 years of service. She spent the first years of her retirement curling, volunteering, and enjoying life. She spent the later years of her retirement caring for, and loving her grandson Blaise who meant the world to her. A Celebration of Life for Joyce will take place on Tuesday, June 29 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Bourkevale Community Club, 100 Ferry Rd. If roses grow in heaven Lord, please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Mother's arms and tell her they're from me. Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, Place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, But there is an ache within my heart that will never go away. I Will Miss You So Much

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I was friends with Joyce for many years, especially when I was married too Doris. For some reason, I just thought of Joyce today and all the laughter that we shared. I remember Vickie being born, times with Laurie and Joyce coming to visit us in Nanaimo. People are not forgotten no matter the time. My love to Vickie and Joyce this day. • Dear Vicki, Ian, and Blaise, We will see my dear friend, your mother, Blaise's wonderful grandmother again, of this I am sure. May you find comfort in this. Joyce and I found each other in this lasting friendship during the middle 50's. In our history, we did a lot of laughing and poking fun at one another and enjoyed a very authentic relationship. When I see Joyce's picture on this obituary, I feel very sad and my heart goes out to you three, her closest family. Joyce may be gone but she is not far away.....Love you !
