Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY L. MARTIN (nee DUFFY KEEN) October 1, 1932 - June 28, 2010 It is with much sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of Duff Martin, wife of Victor for 57 years and mother of Douglas (Vicki), on June 28, 2010. Duff passed away with her family at her side at Grace Hospice, peacefully and with dignity, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She is also survived by sisters, Evelyn, Frances, Phyllis, and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all of those who knew her. Duff was born at home in Charleswood, the youngest of eight siblings. She married Vic in 1953 and a year later moved to the St. James area for the balance of their life together. However, Charleswood was always special to her and Vic throughout the years with numerous lifelong friends that lived there. Duff was very proud to be a longtime member of the Charleswood Historical Society and a member of the Charleswood Legion #100. She was a Past President of both the Charleswood Legion Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Sturgeon Creek Community Club. She freely volunteered her time and energy to many organizations throughout her life. She and Vic together, served many years with the Prairie Dog Central Railroad and enjoyed meeting many new friends and members there. Throughout her life she canvassed for many charities and enjoyed scrutineering during several Provincial and Civic elections. Duff wishes to express her gratitude to all of her many friends and relatives for all of their visits while she was in palliative care. The Family wishes to express it's heartfelt thanks to the excellent staff at the Grace Hospice for all their compassion and caring for Duff in her final days. A memorial service will be held for Duff at the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. on July 5, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has already taken place with a private interment to follow. Flowers gratefully declined, but those wishing to do so may make a donation to Grace Hospice, 260 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3R5. Today you fly with the Angels But you will always be in our hearts
