HELEN (HALIA) BLAHEY April 2, 1929 July 5, 2010 Peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2010, with her loving family by her side, Helen passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 81 years. Helen was predeceased by her husband Bill (1990), mother Olga, father Phillip, brother Steve, daughter Elizabeth, son Edward and daughter-in-law Paula. She leaves to cherish and mourn her daughters Ollie (Lawrence), Lucy (Tom), grandchildren Charlene (Doug), Shannon, Mandi, Ryan and Renee, great-grandchildren Quinn, Hannah and Kylie; siblings Bill (Helen), Marion (John), Jean (Steve), numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was an active member of her club room, at Gable Arms where she enjoyed cards, bingo and crib. Baba was famous for her perogies and cabbage rolls. Helen had a way of always putting everyone before herself, and asked for nothing in return, her act of selflessness reflected in the many friends she acquired throughout the years. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Viewing will take place one- half hour prior to service. Interment will follow.
