Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET NORA TATE (nee HENNESSEY) Peacefully, with her sister and niece at her side, on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at her home, Margaret Nora Tate of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late William O. (Bill) Tate, passed away at the age of 89 years. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Beth Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Margaret was born on May 10, 1921, daughter of Edna and Jeremiah Hennessey in Rural Portage where she was raised. She received her education in the Rob Roy School District. On October 17, 1941 she married William Tate and they made their home in Portage la Prairie. Margaret was a member of Trinity United Church, and Unit 3, Trinity UCW. She enjoyed her newspapers and loved to do the crosswords. Her special times were spent with her family and she cherished her time with her grand-children. Predeceased by her parents, her husband William, one brother Jack Hennessey, she leaves to mourn her passing, her sons, Barrie (Lauren) of Mississauga, ON, Robert (Brenda) of Winnipeg; her daughter Wendy (John) Unger of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Jeff, Jamie, Andy, Kevin, Amber, Ryan, Beth; great-grandchildren, Emma, Adam, Noah, Alex, Abby, Coral and Dennis. Also surviving are her sisters, Alice Brooks of Calgary and Evelyn Wilkinson of Portage and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the funeral home for visitation on Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Portage District General Hospital Foundation, 524 Fifth St S.E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3A8.
