HAROLD FRANKLIN MARTIN October 13, 1924 July 13, 2010 Peacefully, with his loving wife Pat by his side, Harold passed away at Sunnywood Care Home in Pine Falls. At the age of 85, Harold reflected on many years of service to his family, his community and his country. He served as a Wireless Air Gunner in the Canadian Air Force in the Second World War. For many years he worked as a Victoria Beach Police Officer and also as a Volunteer Fire Fighter on the Victoria Beach Fire Department. Harold spent many successful years in the fur industry but his passion was commercial fishing. He enjoyed a variety of things throughout his life though nothing could top the love and pride that he had for his family. To cherish his memory, Harold leaves his wife of 63 years Pat; three daughters Lynn and husband Bruce Anderson, Judy and husband Stuart Pateman, Laurie and husband Dennis Danwich; grandchildren Heath (Sue), Reiss, Onale (Randy), Ryan, Drew (Julie), Preston (Cara), Adam and Lauren; great grandchildren Shea, Trace, Seth, Zane, Colton, Liam and Ali; sister Betty Linklater and brother David (Rose). Harold is predeceased by his parents Bill and Gladys; sister Phyllis and brother-in-law Les Linklater. A service in his honour will take place on Friday, July 16 at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Michael's Church, Victoria Beach, MB. Reception to follow at the Victoria Beach Sports Club on Pine Road. Harold's family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the Sunnywood Personal Care Home and the Pine Falls Hospital. Your care and compassion in caring for our Dad (Poppa) was more than outstanding. We appreciate your efforts to offer him a home away from home and commend you for giving him the quality care that you did. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold's memory can be made to the Victoria Beach Sports Club. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
