Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT BERNARD CONVEY November 30, 1925 - July 13, 2010 Bob Convey died July 13, 2010 at the age of 84. Born in Winnipeg to Johanna and Robert Convey, he attended St. Ignatius School and St. Paul's High School and served Canada in the North Atlantic during the Second World War. He played professional hockey with the Hershey Bears for a short period after the war. Bob's friendly nature led him to a long and rewarding career in sales as a manufacturer's representative for numerous plumbing suppliers. In 1952, the vivacious Edna Orr became Bob's bride and from that point forward, life for Bob was never dull. Together they raised two children, Michelle and Tom, built and rebuilt many homes, loved their cottage at Granite Lake, and entertained with gusto. Predeceased by his son, Tom in 1988 and beloved wife, Edna in 1998, he leaves daughter Michelle (Frank Wehrmann), sisters Rita Bullock and Rosemary Devine, dear friend Muriel Smith, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Robert Convey was charming and gracious; an old school gentleman, with a generous and open spirit. He loved to entertain his friends with stories, and had a wonderful sense of humour. He also had a clear and uncomplicated faith that helped him through the losses in his life, and, in the latter years, his declining health. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 19, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Road, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to The Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3.
