Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY JOSEPH ERLENDSON July 11, 1931 July 8, 2010 It is with deep sadness after a brief illness Henry left us. He was the best husband, father and grandfather anyone could ask for and was loved by all. While we did get to spend many great years with him we were not ready to say goodbye and we will miss him terribly. Henry was predeceased by his parents Sam and Mary, loving daughter Debra-lee as well as brothers Ray, Len and Cully, sisters Marjorie and Lillian. He leaves to cherish his loving wife of 58 years Doreen, his daughter Sandy (David), three grandchildren Bairlee, Derek (Kendra), Joey and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his sister Esther (Gary) and brother Arnie (June). He was born in Melville, Saskatchewan and worked for the CNR for 38 years and loved his job. He retired at the lake in 1989. He loved the outdoors, his birds and wildlife, gardening and his early morning walks with best friend Buddy. He was an avid reader and loved TV and any kind of sports, betting on the horses, playing cards and his many bus trips with Doreen to the Casino as well as music and dancing. Henry belonged to the Grand Marais Senior Group and rolled and pinched tons of perogies. He loved life and taking care of his love and all his family, always putting their needs first and never being able to say no. The end was a struggle but he never gave up. Thanks to Selkirk Paramedics and staff at Selkirk Emergency. A special thanks to Mike and Marylin Wakluk who were our angels in calling. Special thanks also to his sister Esther and all friends who have been there for Henry and Doreen in these last few months. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army. A celebration of Henry's life will take place on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grand Marais Recreation Center, in Grand Marais, Manitoba.
