RUSSELL MARTENS 1964 - 2010 Peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, with his family at his side, Russ went to his heavenly home due to complications following heart surgery. He will be very sadly missed and forever loved by the love of his life for 18 years, Melissa, and his three children, Tie, Jarred and Taylor. Russ is also survived by his parents, Elmer and Frieda Martens, brothers Randy (Marilyn), Daryl (Carol), sisters Shirley (Brian), Shannon (Randy) and in-laws Garry and Allyson Antonyshyn and sister and brother-in-law Jenn and Dwayne Penner as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Russ will always be remembered as a jokester along with his passion for 4-wheeling and snowmobiling. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Mennonite Church 345 Loewen Blvd., Steinbach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Martens' Children Family Trust at the Steinbach Credit Union. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the numerous doctors and nurses in the CICU at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg for their compassionate care, as well as all the prayers and support we have received during this difficult time.
