WINSTON GEORGE LAYETTE It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our dear Winston on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 66 years. Left to cherish Winston's memory is the love of his life, Dorothy; family, Julie (Greg, Emma, Bradly), Glen (Barbara, Rebecca, Ryan), Mark (Carolyn, Justin, Riley, Brianne, Karlie); sisters, Colleen (Chris) and their children Marni (Ryan), Mark (Kathy), Freda (Arthur and family); sister-in-law, Bunny and family in India. He was predeceased by his mother; father and brother Hebert. Born in 1943 in Bangalore, India Winston later came to Canada in 1974. It was here that he worked for Motor Coach Industries and then moved on to MacDon where he worked for 30 years. Unfortunately, poor health forced him to retire early. Winston was a truly special, one of kind person and touched the lives and hearts of all who knew him. He had a big heart and was always putting everyone else's needs before his own. He loved to joke and his laugh and contagious smile will truly be missed. Winston loved getting together with family and enjoyed watching the kids and grandkids. He was always so excited to see them. He loved nature and the outdoors and could often be seen feeding the birds, squirrels, or whittling a piece of wood to make a kite. Winston was very fond of animals, especially Penny and Daisy. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m., in the St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, 320 St. Charles Street. A private family interment will be held. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor East Wing of the Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion for Winston and his family. Donations in Winston's memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. We Love You Winston, Always and Forever
