DENYSE ESTHER OBELNICKI (GOULET) 1931 - 2010 With wonderful memories and warmest thoughts, the family announces the passing of Denyse Obelnicki at Percy E. Moore Hospital on Monday, July 19, 2010. Proud grandmother of Janaya and Jovan Hamrlik, Larissa (Terence) Malenchak, Stephen and Ian Obelnicki, Zane and Mia Zorko, Brittany, Monique and Lachlan Bensemann, great-grandmother of Alyssa Malenchak. Sister to Lucie Lavallee, Agnes Goulet, Artha Anderson, Jeanne Pickard, Giselle Bates and Roger Goulet (Sheryl Johnston). Godmother to Lorne Zagrodnik. Denyse was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Juliette Goulet; infant brother Alexis; sons-in-law, Ron Kalyta and Richard Bensemann; infant grandson Buddy Zorko; brothers-in-law John Lavallee, Bud Anderson, Allan Pickard and William Bates. Denyse was born in Lorette, Manitoba on October 19, 1931 and graduated from Lorette Centre School. She graduated from Normal School and taught in Camperville and Fisher Branch. It was at Fisher Branch where she met John Obelnicki and they married on April 7, 1956. Denyse assisted in the family business while raising four children. She continued in the family business until John and Denyse retired in 1997. Denyse enjoyed travelling; Mexico, Nevada, California, Venezuela, six times to Cuba, five times to New Zealand. Denyse was an active member of the Catholic Women's League and Adult Day Program in Fisher Branch. She was a devout Catholic, quietly laid foundations of love and made quiet sacrifices regularly. She instilled the value of human kindness in her family and that everyone should be treated with the same respect. Denyse's children, grandchildren and great-grandchild were a very important part of her life and she believed that every child should be loved. Denyse was a very proud descendant of the Lagimodiere/Goulet lineage. We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming compassion and care for Denyse by the family at Percy E. Moore Hospital.
