JULES ALFRED CHAMPAGNE

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJULES ALFRED CHAMPAGNE Surrounded by the love of his family, Jules passed away peacefully on July 22, 2010 at the age of 80. Born in St. Norbert, Manitoba on December 16, 1930, the community of St. Norbert had always been the center of his life. From 1944 to 1950 Jules attended Collégé St. Boniface. He served with (C.O.T.C.) Canadian Officers Training Corp. during 1948-1950. He spent three summers in Calgary, Alberta with the P.P.C.L.I regiment Infantry. In 1951 he started a career with Manitoba Power Commission now called Manitoba Hydro. He finished his 36 year career as manager of the department of Human Resources. After his retirement he focused his time with consultant contracts for the Manitoba Hydro and the provincial government for French services. He also gave his time providing tours at the St. Norbert Provincial Heritage Park. In 1991 he was elected as a director for the Hy-Line Credit Union. He later served as president. He was a mentor to many, and his absence will be felt by family, friends and neighbours. One of his favourite pastimes was walking his beloved dog Max through St.Vital Park. Left to cherish his memory is his children, son Robert of Halifax, his children Steven, Michael and Daniel. His daughter Louise, her children Lara, and Tianna. Surviving siblings David, Paul (Laurette), Juliette (Brian). He was predeceased by his wife Simone, his parents Raphaël and Dorilla; Hervé, Marius, Alcide, Louis Sr., André, Jean and his sisters, Sr. Thérèse, Sr. Cècile, and Hélène. A special thank you to the staff at The Foyer Valade and the 3rd floor nursing staff and homecare. In keeping with Jules wishes cremation has taken place. A private service and interment will take place Monday, July 26, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Hwy No. 1 east at Navin, 204-222-3241. A public service will be held at a later date.
