CLARA ROSE-MARY PHILLIPS (nee SMITH) Peacefully, on Friday, July 23, 2010, Clara Phillips passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 74 years. She left us to join her husband, Raymond; her parents; her infant daughter, Mary; her brother, Adelard, and her sister, Florence. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ron (Kirsten), and Janice (Pierre); grandchildren, Roger (Mel) and Nicolle; brothers, Philip (Maggie) and Charlie (Delina); brother-in-law, Allan (Annette), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Clara was born in Dauphin, and grew up in Cayer, Manitoba. She married Ray in Cayer in 1958. They lived in Winnipeg but moved to Ste. Anne, Manitoba in 1977. When Clara retired from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, playing bingo, doing jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. The family extends special thanks to the staff of S.I.C.U. at the Health Sciences Centre. Memorial services will be held at the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Ste. Anne, Manitoba on Wednesday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Armand LeGal as celebrant. Interment will take place in the Ste. Anne Parish Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clara's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
