LUISE BERG
Born: Aug 16, 1921
Date of Passing: Jul 25, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUISE BERG It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother Luise Berg on July 25, 2010. Mom was born in the Ukraine on August 16, 1921 and was the second youngest of 11 children. Mom was predeceased by our Dad, Peter, her eldest daughter Annelina, her son Bernie and all her siblings She leaves to mourn her passing, daughters Janete Laing, Angie Berg and Kate Roy (Arnie), grandchildren Lisa Jamieson (Greg), Julie Paterson (Ron), Rick Laing (Deana), Christopher Waterfield, Devon Waterfield, Shane Roy (Beth), Sean Waterfield, Courtney Roy and great-grandchildren, Erin Jamieson, Bryce Paterson, Kai Paterson, Erika Laing, Averi Laing and Nevan Roy. Mom's greatest passion in life was looking after her family and baking and cooking for us long after we left the nest. She was admired and loved by all who knew her and her baking skills followed wherever she went. Everyone had to have a taste and everyone wanted more. She always had a devilish sparkle in her eyes and an equally devilish sense of humour. Mom worked very hard not only raising her brood on a farm in Saskatchewan but also owning and operating one of the first private nursing homes in Winnipeg. She was brave and feisty and had a great zest for life. Mom's greatest love was for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her shining stars and she adored them with every ounce of her being. We would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre on the 2nd and 4th Floor for their care and kindness to our mom. She said God must have really loved her to allow her to stay there. She is so missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
