Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULINE MERKE (nee SCHINDEL) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Pauline Merke on Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 93 years. Mom is survived by her children: Marge Aitkenhead (friend Elmer Voelpel), Alvin Merke (friend Lucielle), and Iris (Archie) Aitkenhead; grandchildren: Rocky (Christel), Rory (Kim) Aitkenhead, Marlis (Jim) Steinke, Bennett (Marni) Merke, Jayne (Ryan) Watt, Shawn (Sherena) Merke, Melody (Richard) Baronet, Holly (Mark) Selway, Kim (Scott) Zandbergen; great-grandchildren: Jovan, Dezeray, Ramsey, Jared, Conan, Thor, Kya-Lynn, Eric, Tim, Nicholas, Rowan, Tristan, Carter, Ryker, Joshua, Jordan, Kyle, Gavin, Sharon, Emily and Katie; great-great-grandchildren: Jayda, Ashton, Seth, Jaden, Lilyanna, Lucy and Sylvia. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1992; parents August, Emma and Olga Schindel; brothers Adolf (Minnie) and William Schindel; son-in-law Norm Aitkenhead and daughter-in-law Diane Merke. She is survived by brothers Rudolf (Laura) and Fred (Anne) Schindel; sisters-in-law Margaret Schindel, Margaret, Kathleen, Hildegard Merke, Ella Klepatz and also many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church, Gertrude Avenue and 1st Street N., Beausejour, with Pastor Bart Coleman officiating. Friends may view at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Pauline's memory to the Zion Lutheran Memorial Fund.
