BERTHA ONEIL October 8, 1925 August 7, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bertha (Bert) O'Neil on Saturday, August 7, 2010. Bert is survived by her daughter Terry Ridler, grandson Chris (Collena), great-grandchildren Izaac and Jessica, granddaughter Trisha (Dean), great-grandchildren Kirk and Samantha, daughter Lori (Mike Mackenzie), granddaughter Dana, great-grand daughters Shelby and Ashton, granddaughter Jaymie (Danny), great-granddaughter Eden, granddaughter Morgan (Pete), great-grandsons Desmond and Eli. She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Eva Plantje. Bert was predeceased by her husband Tip in 1979, daughter Patricia in 1968, son-in-law Mark in 2008 and sister Jo Matthews in 2007, as well as brothers Bill, Harry, Lou and sisters-in-law Helen and Mary Plantje. Bert enjoyed the time she spent baking cookies for her great-grandchildren, reading, gardening and working out at the Reh Fit Centre. Her most treasured times were those she spent with her family. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the caring and devoted staff of Station 3 at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home. Their kindness and compassion will long be remembered. A reception for friends and family will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Friday, August 13, 2010 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba ON1160 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9.
