IRENE BRODEUR (nee TOUPIN) Peacefully, on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Taché Centre, Irene Brodeur passed away at the age of 89 years. Irene was predeceased by her parents Edmond and Clarice Toupin, her brother René, sister Yvonne Desrosiers (2006), infant daughter Michelle, and son Denis (April 2010). She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 68 years, Roland, her two daughters: Paulette (Maurice) Abraham, and Suzanne (Robert) Ross, four grandchildren: Michelle Delamere, Richard Brodeur, Gilles Abraham, Guy Abraham and their respective families. Irene was born and raised in St. Boniface where she attended St. Joseph's Academy. For most of her career she was employed with Zellers as a manager in the personnel department and later with the City of Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Department as a clerk. She and Roland were blessed with being able to travel extensively throughout Europe, Asia, the U.S.A, and Canada. In retirement, they spent 20 years as Snow Birds in Palm Springs and Mesa. She always looked forward to the Annual Family Shopping Trip to Grand Forks, ND at Thanksgiving. Irene was devoted to her family and friends. She took great pleasure in organizing parties and get togethers. In accordance with Irene's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. Martyrs - Canadiens, 289 Dussault Avenue, with Father Marcel Toupin celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. The family wish to thank the Taché Centre staff of 3ABC for their loving care and support.
