Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMIL HEIM It is with both deep sadness and greatest joy that we announce the peaceful passing of a wonderful Dad and Opa on August 12, 2010 in his 80th year. Emil was a loving and adoring husband to his wife of 55 years, Inga, who left us so suddenly this past November. It gives us great joy to know they are together once again because we knew they could not be away from each other for long. So in the early morning hours of August 12 when it was his time, Inga came for him and he quietly slipped away. All of the lives Emil touched will never be the same. We will all miss the wonderful stories and his mischievous sense of humour. Left to cherish his memories are his children Debbie Barton and Sheila (Neil) Poot; grandchildren Erica (Billy) Mahood, Shaun (Danielle) Poot and Sara Poot. Opa also leaves behind his newest bundle of joy, great-granddaughter, Sophie and the recent excitement of knowing there will be another great-grandchild early next year. Emil leaves behind one brother Roland Heim as well as sisters-in-law Gisela Heim and Jutta Stebner. Many have predeceased Emil and it gives us comfort in our hearts to know they are there to take care of him. Emil was born on March 9, 1931 in Romania and came to Canada in 1950 where he met Inga, the love of his life, and they shared many happy years together raising their family. Our hearts are heavy with sadness as we struggle to imagine life without both of them and we will miss them oh so deeply. We are forever grateful for the absolutely wonderful team on 3E at the Riverview Health Centre who made these last six weeks not just bearable but a pleasure for Emil. Everyone from the volunteers to the Chaplin, we can never thank you enough - he loved you all. Your caring, compassion and kindness through this journey made all the difference to us and Emil. We invite everyone to celebrate Emil's life on Tuesday, August 17, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St. with Pastor H. Bachmeyer officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. To sign the book of condolence please go to www.knyshfuneralchapel.com
