SIDNEY GREENBERG It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Sidney Greenberg at the Seven Oaks General Hospital on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Sidney was born in 1926 in Gimli, Manitoba, the son of the late Charles and Freda Greenberg. He was predeceased by his brothers, Morris, Ted, Sam, Ben and Norman. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Lucy and stepchildren, Valerie Alvarez (Nelson), and Kenneth and his children. He is also survived by his sisters and brother, Sylvia Grant, his twin sister Rita Hoffer and Irvin Greenberg (Gilda) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sidney worked in the family business in Gimli all of his working life, and retired when the business was sold. He played hockey in his youth in Gimli and took part in many activities. He moved to Winnipeg in 1953 and helped care for his parents until they passed away. Lucy and Sidney were married in 1981. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 19 (Today) at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli with Rev. Gordon Payne officiating.
