MICHAEL JAMES JURYN 1914 - 2010 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael James Juryn on Saturday morning, August 21, 2010, at the age of 95. Left with many memories to cherish are his siblings Pauline Marks, Ollie Juryn, Frank Juryn (Louise), Victoria Hein (Max), sister-in-law Mary Juryn; his children Linda (Bob) Boshier, Andy (Judy) Juryn, Petrice Juryn (Len); grandchildren Cathi, Rob (Mary) and Jamie Boshier; great grandchildren Chantal, Nikolaus, Sebastiaan, Caleb and Kirsten Boshier; and many nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his wife Anna; his parents Peter and Anna Juryn; and brothers Nicholas and William. Dad's roots began in Junkins, Alberta, on October 17, 1914. The Juryn family later moved to Tolstoi, Manitoba and then to Winnipeg where Dad remained for the rest of his life. He met Mom in Winnipeg and they were married October 28, 1939. Dad served his country in the Second World War with the 2PPCLI and the R.C.A.F. After the war he worked for Winnipeg Hydro in various positions. One of his fondest memories of Hydro was when the meter readers rode bicyles to do their job. Dad and Mom raised a family of three in Riverview. He retired in 1977 from Hydro and enjoyed road trips to the foot hills of Alberta to research family history, which was his greatest passion. He was proud of his Ukrainian heritage and left a legacy behind by providing his family with a multitude of writings. In his youth Dad played volleyball and hockey. He was active throughout his life which contributed to his excellent health. Special thanks go to Marty and his paramedic crew for their compassion and understanding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. A celebration of Michael's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Saturday, August 28, at 10:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. VICHNAYA PAM'YAT
