ELFRIEDE KUKLIK Peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, Mom passed away at HSC at the age of 86. Predeceased by our father Gunter in 1968 and uncle Gary in 2005, Mom will be sadly missed by her five children Michael (Lisa), Diana (Sylvain), Gunter Butch (Marion), Dagmar and Helmut (Margit); six grandchildren, Ron, Chris, Krystal, Ryan, Dustin, and Candice; four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Riley, Amie and Gabriel; as well as sisters Erna (Gene) and Alda; brother Ed (Brunie) and (Pat); along with many nieces and nephews. Mom enjoyed evenings with the girls at 70 Edgewood Estates and always looked forward to Tuesday visits to the Seven Oaks Geriatric Day Hospital. Mom also volunteered at the Donwood Care Home where she enjoyed singing to and assisting the elderly, most of whom were even younger than her. Mom always looked forward to attending church and seldom missed Sunday and Wednesday evening services, where she enjoyed being with her second Family. Foremost in Mom's life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for each and every one of us and spoke proudly of us often. Gardening was also an enjoyable pastime for Mom, and now she will be tending God's beautiful garden in Heaven. She will be sadly missed by all. We love you Mom, Oma, Grandma; you were the best. We wish to express a special thank you to the nurses and staff at HSC in ward GD5, and especially to Dr. Brian Penner whose compassion was overwhelming. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday evening, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the New Apostolic Church at 1755 Taylor Ave. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations can be made to the NAC Foreign Exchange Fund in care of 1755 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3N1Y2 or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
