ADELL GRACE MACCUTCHEON Beloved wife, mother and granny, passed away early Saturday morning August 21, 2010. She is lovingly remembered by her husband David, her children Bev (Brent), Joy (Dave), Sue, Bruce and Joan as well as her grandchildren, Garry, Michael, Scott, Claire, Hannah, Alec and Kate. She will also be remembered by her siblings Laurel (Horst and family), Lee and numerous friends. Adell was born on a small farm outside of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on April 7, 1935. Her family eventually moved to Grand Forks, B.C. where she lived until leaving the family home and moving to Winnipeg following her independence. Adell met her husband, David, in the St. Luke's Anglican Church choir and were married on June 29, 1957. Together, they raised five children. When the children had grown, Adell pursued employment with The Civil Service Superannuation Board until her retirement in 1997. Forever the lively spirit, Adell was born to travel. She explored the world with family and friends and was perpetually planning her next trip. She was always active in the community and was most recently the president of the Friendship Force of Manitoba (an organization which fosters world peace by building global friendships). Adell was a true sports fanatic. She had a passion for curling and the CFL, holding Bomber season tickets and attending numerous Grey Cup games. Adell had many passions but her biggest passion was her family and her family adored her. She was known for her lavish weekly family Sunday dinners followed by dishes and dancing in the kitchen. All were welcome. She cherished her children and grandchildren, showing her love in so many ways. We would especially like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care and support shown to Adell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care. A celebration of Adell's life will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Terrace Fifty-Five, 55 Pavilion Crescent (Assiniboine Park) from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
