Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGIOVANNA LAPAGLIA (nee CAPIZZI) 1926 -2010 It is with great sorrow and a profound sense of loss that the family announces the unexpected passing of their dearly loved Mother, Sister, Aunt and Great-Aunt on Tuesday August 31, 2010 at the Victoria General Hospital. Mother was born in Calascibetta, Sicily on January 21, 1926 and immigrated to Canada with her husband and daughter in 1956. Mother worked hard balancing family in a foreign country and work at Raber Gloves for over 25 years. She will always be remembered for her generosity and kind heart. Mom had an uncanny ability to ease your troubles, anyone who met her wanted to be her friend. Mother's greatest loves were her family and her faith. Many a dark day was overcome with her strength and prayers. Recently Mom had moved into Villa Nova and was enjoying the company of new friends and experiencing new adventures. It is heartbreaking to accept that her time was so short and that she was not able to explore this new chapter of her life. Mother leaves to cherish her memory the loves of her life, daughter Lina and son-in-law Michael Chiappetta, her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Mother was predeceased by her loving husband Salvatore in 1996. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday September 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. with Reverend Father Renato Pasinato officiating. Expression of condolences may be made to the family starting at 10:00 a.m. Entombment in Waverley Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow at Villa Nova, 1335 Wilkes Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Holy Rosary Church.
